The Ecological Restoration Working Group (ERWG) mission is to provide a space for regional collaboration, sharing best practices, minimizing duplication, and reaching underserved communities through the overarching topic of ecological restoration.
STRUCTURE
The Working Group strives to ideate and collaborate on opportunities to deploy projects and technical assistance in central Appalachia.
GOALS
1. BY 2030, have identified the most sensitive, at-risk, and/or previously harmed ecosystems in our region and
have added capacity, funding, and projects that respond.
2. People have access to a flexible, catalytic fund to support projects that are otherwise viable but have been
denied funding (AMLER, AML, brownfields, or other).
3. Build a community of practice.
4. Develop/find a holistic ecological and social ROI (Return on Investment) tool.
For more details about each goal, view the pdf of ERWG five year work plan – click here.
WHO SHOULD JOIN
Practitioners and stakeholders involved with restoration – brownfields, abandoned mine lands, watersheds, forests, habitats, etc.
